Hand Positions

The hands of the reiki practioner will follow the charka lines starting at the crown charka of the client. The reiki practioner will place their hands on the client in roughly the following sequence. Variations to this sequence exist because no two reiki practioners are alike.

Both hands on the crown chakra
Both hands lightly covering the face
Both hands on either side of the neck
One hand on the left shoulder, one hand on the left elbow
One hand on the left elbow, one hand on the left hand
One hand on the right shoulder, one hand on the right elbow
One hand on the right elbow, one hand one right hand
Both hands on the sternum covering the heart charka
Both hands either cupped over the solar plexus or one hand on each side of the solar plexus
Both hands covering the belly region below the belly button (aka “squishy insides”)
Both hands raised two inches above the pelvic bone
One hand on the left thigh, one hand on the right thigh or left knee
One hand on the left knee and left ankle
One hand on the right thigh, one hand on the left thigh or right knee
One hand on the right knee and right ankle
Both hands on both feet

Repeat sequence down the back and front of the client during the full body treatment.
